2019 Virginia Boys State Comes To A Close

What an amazing week at Virginia Boys State of The American Legion. Though it is nice to be home.

This past week we heard testimonies from a plethora of Virginia’s elected representatives, we worked from before the sun came up to long after it went down, we laughed and we cried. As the program’s motto states, this past week was genuinely “A week that shapes a lifetime.”

To our 700+ rising high school seniors who participated in the program, we hope you took as much from your instructors and counselors as we gained from you.

May each of you go forth equipped with what you’ve learned and lead our great nation into whatever the future may hold. Know all of us here at The American Legion Department of Virginia are here to provide support should you ever feel the need.

Shoutout to Director Linden Dixon and all who made this week such a success. Thanks to comrade Guillermo Guillén for the Uber ride across the state to Radford University and thanks to PNC Dan Dellinger for the lift back. Thanks to the ever-talented Collin Lee for your hard work and assisting me in spreading the good word about our program and organization.

For God and Country
