For nearly 20 years, I’ve never had to worry or give thought to who would be under center for my team. It was just known I’d have the greatest to ever throw a pig skin at QB. When my friends would talk and worry about who was replacing who and now on their 3rd or 4th generation of a starting QB, I was never concerned because TB12 would be leading my team out of the tunnel.
As I woke up this morning and my wife informed me of the news, I am aware this is no more and that chapter has closed. I feel like I’ve lost a friend. I know Tom Brady was many things to many people, but for me, Tom was a friend. He was no different than than the friends we make via social media but have never met, yet the friendship feels no less real. And for me, Tom’s been that friend for 2 decades.
To Brady directly, the only thing I can say is “I understand”. I know this is not what you wanted, and I can speak for Pats Nation when I say “Neither did We”, but I know it is a time to move on. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the loyalty, dedication, and hard work you have given us over a decade.
I respect you for what you stand for, a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and always as the best football player in the world. May God continue to bless you and your family. I will not say good bye because I dislike them but until next time Tom, you will always be in my heart, thoughts, and prayers.
